The Kick-off Meeting of the "Perchlorate Wastewater Treatment Technical Specification" Was Successfully Held

On July 11, 2025, the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association - Perchlorate Production Enterprises Pollution Prevention Seminar was recently held at the Chengdu Homeland International Hotel.
The "Perchlorate Industry Wastewater Treatment Baseline Specification Seminar," hosted by the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association and co-organized by Sichuan Hope Deepblue Chemical Co., Ltd., was successfully held recently. The meeting brought together Sun Fengge, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association; You Ming, Secretary-General of the Chlorate Branch of the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association; He Yong, General Manager of Qinghai Guoyuan Chemical Technology Co., Ltd.; as well as leaders and representatives from more than ten companies including Dalian Gaojia Chemical, Jiangxi Yongning Technology, Guizhou Hengxin Chemical, and experts from the Hunan Environmental Science Research Institute and the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association. The meeting focused on clean production and wastewater recycling technologies in the perchlorate industry, aiming to promote green transformation of the industry through standard formulation.
Dr. Zhong Yu from the Water Institute of the Hunan Environmental Protection Science Research Institute elaborated in detail on the current status and development trends of domestic and international perchlorate wastewater treatment technologies. He conducted an in-depth analysis of the regulatory system for pollutants in perchlorate industrial wastewater, pollution control technology systems, and pollution law enforcement-related matters, providing many constructive ideas for the formulation of the "Technical Specifications for Pollutant Prevention and Control in Perchlorate Production Enterprises" standard.
He Yong, General Manager of Qinghai Guoyuan Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., gave a detailed introduction to the current status of clean production and wastewater treatment of perchlorate in various production enterprises under the Energy and Chemical sector of the Mainland Hope Group: Lanzhou Taibang recovers sodium chloride and potassium perchlorate from high-salinity wastewater through MVR evaporation technology to achieve closed-loop recycling; Qinghai Guoyuan reuses wastewater for sodium chlorate dissolution to reduce discharge. He also provided a detailed analysis of existing problems, calling for the industry to establish wastewater recycling standards, prohibit direct discharge, and strengthen anti-seepage and anti-corrosion measures.
You Ming, Secretary-General of the Chlorate Branch of the China Inorganic Salts Industry Association, stated: It is recommended to formulate strict discharge standards for the perchlorate industry, set basic thresholds, so that enterprises have reasonable and traceable bases for wastewater discharge. This will avoid vicious competition and promote high-quality development of the industry.
This meeting provided a technical exchange platform for the field of perchlorate wastewater treatment. In his summary, Sun Fengge, Deputy Secretary-General of the Inorganic Salts Association, stated: The association will coordinate and support key technology research and development, and promote the establishment of a cross-provincial data sharing mechanism. These achievements lay a solid foundation for the subsequent formulation of technical guidelines for pollution discharge permits.
